Attention GHYC Members: May is Boating Safety Month. The Coast Guard Aux will be having their Second Annual ‘Touch a Boat’ Day on Saturday May 19th, from 9am to 2pm in the overflow parking lot outside GHYC clubhouse. They will have several different types of boats in the grass for you to see, including a 25′ Coast Guard vessel with crew. There will be various vendors, food and fun. The sheriff will have his boat on the floating dock, and the Recreational Vessel Examiners will be present to check your boat’s safety equipment and issue you a decal of compliance, so bring your boat!
Vice Commodore, Phil LaRoche
The Anchorettes will sponsor Memorial Day on Monday, May 28th at noon at Gulf Harbors Beach Club. I will present a short Memorial Service for GHYC members and a National moment of silence at 3:00p.m. So, bring your items for BBQ grilling, drinks and a dish to share. We will have games to play and the water should be warm enough to swim.
